ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The School of Health Administration offers several programs designed to prepare health administrators to assume leadership roles in the private, public or private-public health sectors. The School of Health Administration was one of the first of its kind in Canada, founded in 1982. The School is recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in health administration. The School of Health Administration has over 600 alumni throughout North America who have assumed leadership roles in the healthcare field.  

The School of Health Administration is one of only three Canadian Health Administration programs accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CA+HME), a North American accreditation agency. The credentials of graduates of the Dalhousie University MHA program are recognized in both Canada and the USA.  The School is a full member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).  

The School of Health Administration has extensive relationships throughout Europe and North America,  including, but not limited to, its formal affiliations with: European Health Management Association, European Public Health Association, Atlantic Regional Training Centre Applied Health Services Research, Canadian Public Health Association, Canadian Society for International Health, and Canadian College of Health Service Executives.

The School of Health Administration currently offers four programs of study:

  2. Master of Applied Health Services Research
  3. Diploma of Emergency Health Services Management
  4. Diploma of Health Services Administration
